MATES FC

Saturday's

`Play as you go` Football Matches

 - The home of MATES FC - CARING UTD! -

Welcome to MATES FC  Saturdays

A different squad for every match, based on whoever fancies playing!

We have created a football team that will change every game we play depending who is feeling strong enough to play on that date, but unlike any other team we want NO COMMITMENT.

We are all about helping you by using the beautiful game to boost your positive mental health.

Saturday matches are free and open to all over 18's and all abilities. Whether you're in a team, have never played football before, out of football with an injury or just fancy a change from the gym, come along and improve your physical and positive mental health!

Play for 5 minutes-full game it’s up to you. Drop in, drop out, its up to you how many games you play, you are always welcome in our team.

There is no commitment. If you don’t fancy it on the day, simply don’t turn up.

No commitment, no pressure, no stress.

In 2021, we were proud winners of the local McDonalds and FA Grassroots Project of the Year!

Where do we play?

Every Saturday @ Moulsham High School

Moulsham High School, Brian Close, Moulsham, Chelmsford, CM2 9ES

We meet in the car park

What do you need to bring?

Simply bring yourself, your boots, your shin pads and we'll do the rest!

We will supply your kit on the day and this must be returned after the match so it can be washed, sanitised and reallocated for the next match. Changing facilities are available at Moulsham.

"What type of games do you play?"

Games vary from week to week depending on the number of people wanting to play. Some weeks will be 11-a-side, some weeks 5-a-side, other weeks 9-a-side.

We have a very flexible set up to ensure we always make games as enjoyable as possible!

"And it's FREE!?"

As with our Thursday fitness sessions, our Saturday matches are also FREE! Just pop your name down as 'interested' or 'going' on the specific event in the Events tab on the MATES FC Facebook Page

How do I get involved?

In order to provide these sessions for free, all we ask of you is to register your attendance on the Facebook event to ensure we have enough coaches to run the session/dont have a surplus of volunteers.

If you change your mind nearer the time, just remove your name.

To register your interest in an event...

Alternatively, you can email us at:

weareyourmates@gmail.com

Once registered, on the week of the game, you will be added to a Facebook Messenger chat group where details of the game will be posted and teams organised. You will also receive a pdf MATES FC  Handbook that we have put together to try and answer every possible question you may have and to help you feel as comfortable as possible.

Have a team and fancy a game?

We're always looking for teams to play; whether it's 5-a-side, 7-a-side, 9-a-side or 11-a-side, whatever it is, contact us and we'll see what we can sort out!

MATES FC : Caring United

MATES FC Saturdays is also the home of MATES FC: Caring United!

In 2022, CALM partnered with Carling to create Caring Utd, which recognises a handful of clubs across the UK that do more for their community than just play football. MATES FC are extremely proud to be one of these clubs and once a month we run/dedicate a game under the Caring Utd banner!
